Why I do what I do.
It’s now or never. I’ve threatened, only myself mind you, to do this for years. The holdback? The possibility that I have no business advising anyone on volleyball... or anything else for that matter.
I was also intimidated by this being public. Of course that assumes more than one or two old, insomniatic coaches who are searching the blogosphere happen upon my thoughts. What are the odds?
So let’s march on.
Offering assistance for new coaches, info for parents with young players, and off season development advice
for young players.

Phil Morey
I retired from teaching in 2011 after 33 years in the classroom. I still do volleyball training after 40-plus years. I was the co-director of 2 different volleyball clubs in Ft. Wayne.
I was also involved at the beginning of club volleyball in our area. I was the head volleyball coach at Wayne HS for 12 years and have been an assistant coach charged with training for the program.
I was also the head girls’ basketball and softball coach at WHS both for 2 years
